ORIGIN STORY

Original since 
way back

Laid out in 1881 as the first organised expansion beyond Adelaide's city centre, Southwark was once home to Colonel Light's 'Theberton' Cottage.

Over time the suburb became known as Thebarton, and today, the name Southwark is being reinstated to reflect and honour the original legacy of the area.
